Spinning Babies®
Spinning Babies® is an international organization that focuses on adding comfort in pregnancy and ease in birth.
In this 16 hour Spinning Babies® Workshop, you’ll get an in-depth exploration of the soft tissues of the uterus and pelvis in pregnancy and birth, and how it affects baby’s flexion and positioning. Spinning Babies® offers the world’s first complete system of matching birth positions and labor progress techniques to “where’s baby?” in the pelvis.
The baby is always speaking to us: in pregnancy through the pregnant person’s body and symptoms of pregnancy as well as baby’s position; in birth the baby speaks to us through the birth giver’s body as how and where they feel their labor, where the baby is in the pelvis (position and station), contraction patterns, fetal heart tones, and cervical changes.
Learn and practice hands-on ways to listen to the baby, and thereby restore balance where needed.
After this workshop you will be able to:
- Facilitate comfort in pregnancy and ease in childbirth for your clients
- Improve fetal position with techniques for restoring balance to the uterine ligaments and pelvic muscles
- Identify when to take action to avoid long labors or cesareans
- Use fresh solutions for long and/or posterior labor, labor dystocia, and labor pain
- Change the effective size of the pelvis
- Resolve labor stalls with Spinning Babies® Three Levels Solutions℠
Spinning Babies® welcomes all professionals who serve people in their pregnancy and birth. This training is ideal for midwives, nurses, nurse practitioners, doulas, bodyworkers specializing in pregnancy, and childbirth educators. Also largely attended by obstetricians, family medicine doctors, fertility experts, prenatal yoga instructors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, perinatal case managers, and community health workers.
As well as training people who are new to Spinning Babies, this workshop is recommended for professionals who’ve been practising it for years, to refresh and expand on their knowledge.
NOTE: This workshop changed its core balance techniques in 2021. If you attended a workshop before 2021, it is recommended to attend another workshop for updated techniques.
Continuing Education: ACNM and ANCC have awarded this course 13 CEU’s for CPM’s and LM’s.14 CEU’s awarded by MEAC.

Vaginal Breech Basics
Understand the rotations of a baby in breech presentation, how to recognize a normally progressing breech vaginal birth (hands off), and how to resolve dystocias of breech birth. You will learn to identify, diagnose, and treat breech birth dystocias based on 3 pelvic levels (inlet, midpelvis, and outlet); each inlet will have specific techniques, and the baby’s body will guide us to which maneuver that baby needs.
This is an 8 hour course that focuses 4 hours on academic content, with remaining time spent on hands-on practice and role playing.
This advanced course is only for clinical birth providers (physicians, midwives, midwife assistants, and obstetrical nurses.)

Resolving Shoulder Dystocia
Learn to identify 5 different types of shoulder dystocias, and a 6th variation. In this intensive, you’ll learn to identify the pelvic level at which each shoulder dystocia occurs, and how to properly manage each scenario to resolve the dystocia.
This is an 8 hour course that focuses 4 hours on academic content, with remaining time spent on hands-on practice and role playing.
